Discovery & Research
Our focus for the the discovery and research was to discover the key stakeholders goals.  In this project the stakeholders were the founder, Joyce Adelugba, and her prospective clients. These clients were criminal defendants, non US citizens caught in the immigration system, or families who are sorting our legal issues around family.
What we needed to understand:
Who is Adelugba Law?
A law firm who specialized in criminal defense, immigration law, & family law
What do they want to be?
They want to be a law firm that is known for providing exceptional service to their clients but also a firm the focuses on criminal justice reform through court rulings
What does success look like?
Reforming the justice for a safer and more free civil society in the USA while successfully meeting the needs of her clients.

Phase 2: Visual Identity
Part of our work with Adelguba Law was to create a consistent brand identity.  This would include a logo, typefaces, brand colors and tone.
What we needed
Tone
Tone helps us frame everything we do.  Tone helps us understand how we will communicate with clients.  The visual identity is a tool for communication, so tone and aesthetic must be aligned.
Typeface
Typography establishes strong visual hierarchy, provides contrast and balance, and sets the tone for the product.
Color
Color induces emotion and communications value.  It is one of, if not the most important visual design elements.
Logo
The visual identity anchor.

Developing Tone: Mood Boards
We use mood boards to both inform the client about what might work, what is possible, but also for myself to discover their preferences.  What moves the client. I used dribble.com and behance.com to find samples to reference, and Notion.io to display
Joyce and I picked up the samples until I had a sense of direction. From there I created samples paired with different color options for a wider reference point.

Phase Three: Videography
From the beginning we knew we’d introduce Joyce and Adelugba Law to the world. We wanted to quickly communicate their values, their personality, and what they have to offer.  When I’m trying to get people to digest something quickly my go to is video.  People are more likely to watch a video than read a blog post, and video distributes better on all social channels than written or graphic post.
